Don Mackay is one of the team at Barfoot & Thompson Albany Office. He specialises in the Sale and Purchase of Residential property all over Auckland’s North Shore. From Gulf Harbour to Northcote – Stillwater to Paremoremo – Milford to Massey.

Background

Born and educated in Wellington, Don and his family have lived on the North Shore, since moving to Auckland.

He has a good eye, and lots of experience. He understands the building process, and the real estate market, particularly on the North Shore.

His experience involves Project Managing the construction of four new-house builds and extensively renovating two other properties himself.

Before Real Estate, Don had a long career working in Advertising Agencies in Wellington and Auckland involved in every aspect of the business, including: Production, Media [Planning and Buying] Client Service and Agency Management.

He has a Diploma in Advanced Marketing Management from Victoria University and IMI.

During his time in Advertising, Don has been responsible for Planning, Strategy and Implementation of multi–million dollar Ad budgets. He has been involved on some of New Zealand's more recognisable Brands, including; Hannah’s, Cerebos Greggs, Masport, Parfum Yves Saint Laurent, NZ Post Bank and Philatelic, Sanitarium, Auckland SPCA, Lion Nathan, EziBuy, Super Liquor Retail, Lane Walker Rudkin, NZI, Montana Wines, Babich Wines, Dive HQ, Fiji Tourism, Polynesian Airlines, Sodastream, and Manheim Auctions among them.

Outside of work and when time permits – he enjoys a round of golf with his friends. Don also looks for personal projects to work on – he has done a complete re-build of a 1980’s Mazda double-cab Ute, built his own steel trailer, restored outdoor furniture and a small compressor, in his spare time.
